There’s so much going on at Boot Ranch, we figured it was time to yell “Fore!” so you wouldn’t be surprised by all the news! This year is off to a great start and there’s much more to come, so let’s get going…
History on the Green – the Nimitz Golf Classic
Details will be coming soon on the 2012 Nimitz Golf Classic. Every year, the stunning Boot Ranch course embraces the history of the Texas Hill Country and one of its favorite sons – Admiral Chester Nimitz, a World War II hero of the U.S. Navy – with the Nimitz Golf Classic.
Benefitting the Admiral Nimitz Foundation in support of the National Museum of the Pacific War and Operation Comfort, the 2011 Nimitz Golf Classic was an event not soon to be forgotten by participants and attendees. As they traversed our beautiful course, golfers were treated to an exclusive look at the National Museum of the Pacific War’s private collection of World War II-era military equipment an d vehicles. Dotted across the fairway were true “hazards” – historic Jeeps, military transports and tanks. While golfers kept on the lookout for rogue balls (friendly fire), attendees caught a glimpse of World War II aircraft flying overhead.
The event was rounded out with a private tour of the George H.W. Bush Gallery of the National Museum of the Pacific War, a silent auction and dinner in the Nimitz Ballroom, and dancing under the stars to the sounds of Sentimental Journey and the Memphis Belles.
Don’t worry if you missed out on this incredible event last year. You’ll get a second chance with the 2012 Nimitz Golf Classic. Details coming soon!
