So, we moved to Seattle. That’s kinda huge.

Welcome to another semi-random edition of Brent’s newsletter. I’ve actually been quite busy in the past few months. Many of you know that my family and I have moved to the greater Seattle area. This was a very long time coming and much overdue. We sold our house in October and the new buyers gave us 30 days to get out. Our house was on the market for 14 months but for some reason it still came as a shock. We had 30 days to not only figure out where we wanted to go (yes, we hadn’t decided anything yet), but also how to do it. Well… fast forward a few months and here we are in Seattle, WA attempting to kinda start all over again.

It’s really been a ride but we are happy and hopeful for whatever the future may hold. That said, if you have any “settling in” tips for us, send them our way. We haven’t moved like this in a very long time.

Recent personal projects

I’ve been busy! Here’s what’s been going on:

• iBoughtARoaster – Ok, so I don’t actually have a legitimate “roaster” yet. It’s an air popcorm popper but all I use it for is roasting coffee beans. Yeah, I bit off my own name too, but whatever. This little blog is to write up things we discover or fail at. Should be a fun and interesting read (embarrassing for us as we’re total noobs).
• Delicious Mail – This is a work in progress. I built the site back in 2007 and it was horribly out of date. I’m giving it a facelift.
• This Stuff is Amazing – Kind of a silly aggregator of my Dribbble shots. A fun little excercise.
• Join My Mailing List – It is exactly what it says it is 🙂
• Awesome List – Simply a list of awesome things. Feel free to swing by and add as much stuff as you like or comment on what’s already there. (FYI I just launched this so there’s not much yet so I need your help)

I am available

This is the part of this newsletter where I mention that I am currently available for freelance work. It’s a bit shameless but as several of my clients have told me in the past, “you can’t expect for us to just know when you are available”.  So I’ve created a site just for that purpose.
