Transform the Lives of Twa Families in Rwanda |

Dear Friend,
Can you imagine a community with an average life-span of just 30 years? Families of six living in a home that’s just 43-square-feet?
This is the reality faced by the Twa people, also known as pygmies, living in a remote northern area of Rwanda.
These families live in grass-thatched huts with no doors, windows, or sanitary facilities. During the rainy season, water leaks through the walls, spoiling food and dampening beds, clothes, and children’s schoolbooks.
I lead the Rwanda program of Partners In Health and we are working to transform the lives of the Twa families who live in the rural Burera District where we work. Today, I need your help to expand our program, and forever change the lives of two Twa families.

We’re working with the Rwandan government to address the root causes of disease, rather than just the symptoms, by building each family a new home and providing social, economic, and educational support.
Partners In Health and local officials are working together to build a new, fully furnished home on fertile land for each Twa family. Every family will receive a full package of social support, including mutual health insurance subscriptions, agricultural and food support, and school support for every child that includes the cost of uniforms, shoes, notebooks, and a portion of school fees.
To start, we’re focusing on two families, and we need to raise $11,000 by June 21st to fund this.
