I am mesmerized by Fernando Guerra’s focus on color and composition – which tells the story of a small group of villagers living at the base of a volcano. I am sure it was not by luck that he managed to catch such perfectly balanced shots, but rather a well-trained eye and his natural ability to recognize a story within a frame. From the first picture, this story will pull at your heartstrings; Desmond is a boy without a family and a debilitating condition that makes it hard for him to walk. This story illustrates the power of hope and the human spirit. Despite the tremendous odds stacked against Desmond, this kid will just not give up. Read the whole story
I am always a bit in awe of photographers that travel and connect with the people and places they visit. Jenna Rae certainly does just that when she chronicles her trip to Sri Lanka. She captures the beautiful colors of the train, the mountains and the beaches, but most of all the people. Read the whole story
I get the feeling that Lake Obersee will not remain a hidden treasure for long. This isolated lake nestled in between mountains is something straight from a fairy tale. Edmund describes the scenes unfolding before him as “jaw dropping” and I couldn’t agree more! Read the whole story
It’s summertime in Norway and Kristian Pletten and friends (aka The Wolfpack) are soaking in every beautiful minute of it. The friends spend a memorable weekend in one-room cabins without electricity, running water or internet. I personally live in California, arguably a very beautiful place, but Kristian’s camping trip to Lake Kvanndal has me quite envious. Read the whole story
