Currentes by Andy Gilmore
11″ x 14″ Print (Edition of 50)
Ghostly International Editions
This week, we’re thrilled to introduce Ghostly International Editions’ first original (that is, non-album) art print, a stunner of a piece from a recent addition to Ghostly’s roster of visual artists, Rochester, NY-based Andy Gilmore.
Gilmore’s Currentes is a dazzling, kaleidoscopic example of the artist’s color-saturated geometric studies. The work takes its name from the symbols of square music notation, whose diamond-shaped notes are always arranged in a descending scale.
Andy Gilmore’s work for Ghostly International includes two tee-shirt designs for the Dark Arts Collection, a limited-edition tee and screen-printed poster commemorating Ghostly’s 10th anniversary, and the recent artwork for Gold Panda’s You EP.
Gilmore (b. 1974) received his BFA from Empire State College in 2002. He has since produced a seemingly bottomless body of work, both personal and professional. His list of clients include Wired, Wallpaper*, Seed magazine, Nike, and the New York Times.
