Jeremy’s Message
What the world needs now is…any ideas? Love, sweet love was Burt Bacharach’s answer, but that wasn’t what the organisers of the TED conference had in mind when they set the song title as the theme of their 2010 conference in California.
I was at the TED conference again in California a few weeks ago, and it was, as usual, mind-blowing. TED is all about the power that ideas have to change the world.

Goldilocks and Glamping
Icebreaker garments are “the Goldilocks of outdoor wear – not too hot, not too cold”. Very true, but, while we couldn’t have put it better ourselves, this great quote comes not from us but from the Huffington Post, the most linked-to blog on the internet. And the news stories don’t end there.
In recent months, Icebreaker has had a high profile in media outlets as diverse as The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and O, the Oprah Magazine.

Freaking Ourselves Out
Running, biking and kayaking through wild mountain terrain in torrential rain isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time, but the Icebreaker team had a blast competing in the world’s premier multisport event.
Individuals and teams taking part in the Speight’s Coast to Coast have one or two days to traverse New Zealand’s South Island. The gruelling event involves cycling 140km, kayaking 67km and running 36km – some of it over the Southern Alps, where most of Icebreaker’s merino wool is grown.

Ban on Plastics
Plastic fantastic? Not at Icebreaker.
We’re all about nature and sustainability, so we set ourselves the challenge of banning all plastic from our socks packaging. We needed a pack that was tough enough to withstand the rigours of shipping and display, and that could be easily opened so customers could remove the socks and feel how soft they are. It was a big ask, but here’s how we did it.
